Yesterday I entered the speed build at Dreams.

I had actually entered when I first started in SL I think, but the lag was soooo bad. I’d repeatedly crash, get IM’s from griefers, get griefed while on the sandbox during non contest hours. I couldn’t take it. I quit going. It was far too frustrating.

I’ve been back quite a bit to Dreams land, and it’s lovely. I went to their Fair, I’m entered in the Backyard contest, I’ve done a speed build. There is a bit of lag, but no worse than any other sim. No crashing for the last week, no griefing, no disgusting IM’s making reference to either of my avatar shapes I tend to be in.

I’m glad I gave Dreams another chance, it’s very nice. The people who are involved with dreams are nice too.

I guess the griefers gave up and found a new sim to harass.

Last night the speed build theme was: Pinata!

Hard to see I guess, but it’s a tiger and a calico waiting on the candy to fall from the mouse pinata hehehe. It’s up on display ALL week out at Dreams! It’s just oustide the teleport area in the grassy area on the corner. (Right next to my Backyard plot decorating contest entry)

Then last night I showed at NCI’s Show and Tell.  I love it!  It’s fun forcing you people to look at my work :)  I showed off the cat treehouse that’s on my backyard plot contest entry.  Yay!  I love seeing what everyone’s making. 

Oops, sorry.. no photo of it yet.  I’ll get one when I finish the entire scene.

Tonight I placed 1st!  Theme:  Things on the Farm

Aley gave me the Pork-Web texture yay! (Thank you!)

Rain’s theme idea was Bad Foods.

Thanks to Ray for his suggestion of mentioning something along the lines of think about what happens when you eat bad foods (ack I forget what he said now), I was no longer brain-froze on ideas!  So I built this.  My apologies if you’re eating!

The only other thing I could think of to build was okra.  Okra is such a bad food.

We get 40 minutes, to use 40 prims, to build on the theme.   You should join in.  There’s one for under 90 day players and one for over 90 day players.  It’s all real fun, and everyone’s nice.  No one will make fun of you in a mean spirited way!

I am so happy, Gramma likes the cakes :)  I was afraid maybe they’d be the wrong style, or too many prim.  They have a lot of prims going on.

I’ll go ahead and get photos up soon, I’m so excited about them.  They’re tasty!  Later though, I’m supposed to be getting ready to go do some yard work but you see what I’m doing.. blogging and standing around on Kuula Stage hehehe

I had to quit building on my own land, yay for TUi’s sandbox.  It’s huge and very little lag during low/no class times.  I love it.  Rarely do I have anyone walk up and start begging for a copy of what I’m building when I’m there either.

There’s several cupcakes and two chocolate cakes.  Mmmm chocolate…

When you go to the party be sure to note which cupcake stand you’re clicking.  It will give you a random cupcake color out of six icing choices.  One is for tinies, it will crunch you down if you aren’t a tiny.  The other is for tallies
The other two cakes offer up both slices at once, tallies and tinies.  Just equip the right one, the tinies will crunch you down.

I rather like the platter the one cake is on, I spent probably 30m on that one just with textures.  I’d texture it, then say no… and redo it.. and again.. and again..  I like it now.
Now Gramma doesn’t have this to worry about, yay!

I love theme building.  It’s easier to focus my ideas down when I have a distinct theme.  I’ll have to start making myself some themes to see what I can come up with.  Need to think of a fun theme later haha

I am really excited about this! I’m going to be making a couple cakes for NCI’s Birthday Party!  Yay Gramma, she IM’d me and asked if I’d bake a couple cakes, and of course.. I said yes yay!

I have an NCI cake I made during a blitz build.  It’s soo tacky haha, It’s greenish and white and says “NCI” on it.  I think it’s pretty badly done personally but it was a 40 minute, 40 prim blitz and it does give out cake!   So exciting, now for this.. I’m making some more baked items.  I need to break out my oven that has a hover flying script in it and just live on that for the whole month.  I don’t think Cavedweller uses H4 yet though, when it does I’ll sit on my oven while I build bake!

I brought up Google, searched out some nifty cake shape ideas and sketched a few ideas down while SL™ was having login issues.  It’s still pretty laggy in-world even though logins are back up.  I rarely bake cakes in RL, and don’t eat cake that often actually.

I’ve got to work a bit later on some textures, I have a few cake textures from a class I took but in order to get the right cake flavors, I’ll have to just make them.  Need to edit up a couple particles for candle flames, perhaps some sculpties but I’m not sure yet if I need to make any.  I have sculpties I’ve made for other projects that may just work for this project too.  Or better yet, maybe I’ll go scope out SLEchange to see if anyone sells cake textures for a reasonable price.   Gramma offered to refund if it costs me anything, but bleh.. if I find textures, I can make use of them later so I’ll just consider it an investment of my own Linden and just use them for a fun party at the same time!  No need to refund that
Then to see if I have a Tinies Eat animation I can drop into these cake slices.  I have one for humans and I think I may have a tinies version as well.  If not, I’ll just go see if an animation store sells one.  Same for that too no need for a refund, I can definitely make use of that animation in the future again so I’ll just buy it outright if I don’t have one.

Seriously, this is exciting.  I’m such a dork hehe

This cheers me up a lot, I feel like crap.  RL health (well obviously RL or if it was SL™ health that’d be just weird now wouldn’t it?) is effected greatly right now, so I’m not feeling very spectacular or cheerful.  My apologies if I don’t respond (or if it takes me a while to realize you Im’d me then reply).  Chances are I’ll miss IM’s a bit over the next few days.

I like theme building :)   A lot!!

You’ll just have to go to the party to see my baked items!  I even fixed up a new apron just for this baking event.  I’ll get a photo of that later.  You get to see that early.
I forget what day she said the party is, I think near the end of April but I crashed out and didn’t get the date written eek!  I’m sure it will be very widely announced though, this is going to be fun!

Yay!  My first official S&T as an Olbie!  (over 90 days)  I won 3rd place, thanks guys!
I showed my hover bunny, using Aley’s H4 compliant hover script.  Made my own sculpties for it, and it works soooo much better in H4 than before.  It used to drift up, if I was sitting on my bunny and went AFK.  I’d find myself in some random spot after floating along bleh.  Now, I stay put

I has a sadness temporarily! I just entered my last Newbie Show and Tell at NCI Kuula. I am at 89 days within Second Life™ today. But! There are always the Oldbie S&T’s! YAY

I hope I am still eligible to play in the Newbie Blitz tomorrow even though I’ll be exactly 90 days.  Eek!  It is hard to believe it’s been 90 days.  I’ve been playing in both Oldbie and Newbie blitz for a bit now, how sad to only have one a week now hehehehe.  I gotta find other sims with fun speed builds!  It’s good practice to build so quickly and with limitations on prim count.  Plus, it’s always fun, not to mention prizes are always neat to get haha

Sniffy flies around.  I made the body  myself, it’s a sculpty and the propeller is a texture I made as well.  The rest of him is free textures and basic prims
You can get the script over at the official SL™ forums.  If you get a script error, it’ll bump you to the spot where the error is.  When I copy/pasted it, there were two spots in which words ended up with a space stuck in.  Just fix those two spots and tada!

Waiting on lag to go away so a class can begin.

Today I took a cute class at TUi to make an easter basket.  Now there’s at least two but this one is by Ansa and she teaches how to dye eggs.  It’s cute!  I love it.

There’s another Easter basket class run by Ericka Nemeth (also at TUi), that’s the one we’re waiting on lag to cool down for.  It’s not time for class yet, but it’s pretty laggy still eek!  I can’t get her example to load but I am sure it is cute as can be!

Then I took another class by Wilde (again, at TUi) on making burning marshmallows on a stick!  That was great fun.  His class layout was great, we even roasted them at the end.  How fun!  Due to lag and probably because other classes run at the same time, at first I was the only student!  Then another showed up, then another but I guess she crashed..  she vanished somewhere along the way.

Last night was the Newbie Blitz Build at NCI Kuula.  I took first place!  Yay!  Thank you guys.  The theme was Space and I built Aley.  You can see the picture of that up at SLPics too :)  Aley owns Privateer Space, a really fun space themed sim.

Hooooo! Thanks guys! The builds were great, as always. Medical supplies all over Kuula’s large stage! Immy and her dancing needles outfit was kinda grossing me out though haha
