SLURL: Urban Shopper Flower Hunt

There are some really nice prizes!  Just find 11 flowers.  It’s even easier than it sounds, they give you a notecard if you click the yellow info sign.  It tells you which shops have flowers to find, how many prizes they give.  All but one even show you an example of what prize you’re getting soy ou can skip the ones you’re not wanting.

I don’t know how long it lasts, it’s apparently been running for a bit now.

All the shops listed in that notecard do have their flowers.  I had some difficulty with one, but it is there.  Look high, look low, look closely at art, look maybe around the entrance to the stores.  You never know…  A couple are hidden quite cleverly, but they are findable!

I especially like the Nova gift, it’s up for sale in her shop too.. isn’t that dress just awesome?  I hope it looks okay on my kid av.  It surely won’t fit my kitty avs!

Oooo it even comes with shoes.

There’s a party out at Opus Free Port tonight from 6pm to 8pm SL time!  It’s a literary party, so I’m dressing up as Sherlock Holmes.  There’s a few signs scattered around with info on the party, clicky and dress up!  Even if you don’t attend the party, I highly recommend exploring Opus Free Port.  I love it :)  Camera back and check out the island shape too!

My teddy is Watson, btw.  He’s so under dressed but he insists he’s fine.

I love Sherlock Holmes stories, particularly the Dancing Men story.  Well actually, any story.  I’d of gone as Hercule Poirot but I am short on time to make an outfit, and I couldn’t find one to purchase.

This Sherlock outfit is sold at Huggy’s by Bloodsong.  It’s under the Costume section, about middle of that short wall there.  There’s Watson, Sherlock, and a paired set but I don’t know if the paired set comes with the bubble/smoke pipe and magnifier glass.  It fits kitties just fine

The magnify glass I’m holding is not part of the set, there’s a different one included.  I’m using one I picked up out at Antiquity Sim.  I also have a nifty pipe from there, but it doesn’t do bubbles.

Valla invited me out to the party, and I was wary.  Clubs may or may not have pervs hanging around and seeing as it was “Best Uniform” I’d be going as a  kid hehe.   I haven’t got a uniform as a kitty yet

I’m wary of going many places as a child AV, even to the kid friendly sims as there’s usually some freak standing around there as well.

Tinies don’t get the same troubles from lamers.

It was fun!  Everyone was really nice, very small crowd but that was okay! :)  The Best in Uniform contest yay!  Valla and I tied for 1st.  We were also the only two entered, but that does not make us any less cool haha!

Today Johnathon Spad (who does really neat portraits, you can see one at my house on the first floor) mentioned Virtual Travel, and invited me to go along.  It was great.  We visited a couple spectacular art galleries in SL™.  I took several photos along the way, the LM’s to the places are with the photos… I forgot to make LM’s as we went.

W e also visited the Titanic, but there was a huge party going on and it was intense lag.  More than the usual SL™ lag hehe

I signed up with the group, so hopefully I’ll have more fun LM’s and pictures next week!  The tour guide, eek.. I think his name was sean, also gave me a previous tour notecard so I’ll hit those galleries up too and report back!

At that LM at the top, you can get info about the tours and sign up for notifications.  Plus there’s a ton of LM’s all around, sorted by type.  I’ll have to go back and check the rest out.   There’s shopping for sure, I’m not sure what other sections there were.

Now about that sweet portrait Johnathon did, seriously go see it.  It’s lovely.  He took two pictures of me, one as a kitten and one as a kid.  Then photoshopped them together to make me holding me!  It’s great!

Hehe.. today I took a class on making shoes. It was held in a lovely kid-safe sim.  I think there were people on duty to help watch over the area as well to keep troublemakers out of the area.

The class got off to a fairly rusty start, but despite all the minor problems with supply permissions.. I had a great time It also was very fun before hand as there was a really great coin hunt and I found some coins with linden inside! That was fun!  The whole sim layout is just great too.

The class dues were refunded due to permission problems preventing us from using the items, but it’s okay. (Thank you!) She was a stand-up teacher and refunded us, then we moved onto texturing a base shoe she made for us. That was fun, it was really nice seeing the results of the shoe maker script.

Then we did mary jane shoes too! The teacher made us the no-transfer base to texture and try on. Again, fun!
The sculpties were all created by the owner of Flying Tribe.  I just left her shop.  The shoe making kits are up the hill and inside the building there, look up.  I bought the ballet slipper’s kit.  Yay, time to go make a decorated set of shoes.

They look to be for humans, child/teen/adult sized.  I don’t know if they’ll fit tinies but I will report back later!  I think with some resizing, we can make them fit our little  huge pawsies.

Despite the rough start in the class, I will definitely keep an eye out for future classes.  :)  Even if you don’t take the classes, at least go check the land.  There’s a fun clock to climb, and if you make it to the top there’s a small surprise.  There’s a corn hedge maze, some various nursery rhymes that I don’t know… but the stuff was fun!  I am fairly sure the whole area is done in nursery rhymes.  Obviously I need to get some books from the library, I didn’t quite get it all.  But it is a lovely area!
I am so tired today in RL, that I am not sure if these entries today make any sense.

SLURL:  Metamorphoses  (For quad cat AV)

I have been working on a new vehicle for a few days. It’s slightly different than my purple/green car.  The script setup was much easier this time around, I have the doors working with very little problems, the seating script worked great.  My next car should be even easier!  I have sounds too.

I don’t know how to make it so there is a horn beep.  I’d like to make it so if I hit a specific button, it beeps.  Since it’s not a flight vehicle, maybe the same button that would normally make me leap/fly would be good.  That’s for later though, haven’t even begun looking up how to do that.

I do have a question though, about a scripting problem I am working on the last three days.

How do I make it so that two spheres that will be tucked into the exhaust pipes (there’s two pipes) trigger a particle when I sit in my car and stop when I stand up? I tried llAvatarOnSitTarget, I tried sensors, and I can get a particle to trigger on sit and stop on unsit but only if it’s the one my butt is planted on. These two spheres are on the vehicle, but not directly what is sat upon.

Using llAvatarOnSitTarget doesn’t work though since I am not actually sitting on the spheres.  Though I did try adding in the sit target of the actual vehicle’s prim that I do sit on.. it didn’t help.

Well, with sensors I did get it to trigger.. at least, I think I did. Then I tried to make it so that it only triggered if someone was within 0.1 of the object and stop when I am not directly nearby but it didn’t stop particleling… er… that’s not a word.

So I have a ways to go, more things to try. I only just started trying the sensor option so I’ll work on that a bit more.  When I get it figured out, I’ll post up what I end up with!

The original version of this car with this same style was shorter. It fit my tiny siamese just fine. Today, I bought a great avatar from Metamorphoses (Nimbus Rau’s shop) and so I adjusted the height just a bit to fit this cat av head too.  It’s still quite small.

Now I’m a siamese cat tiny, a tuxedo cat quad, who’s sometimes a kid!  I’ve been scoping out Hogwarts the last couple of days.  They’re really  nice there!  Just working on my storyline application for them.

Today I saw an event for a book promotion.  I saw that it said tiny friendly!  So of course that, along with free stuff.. man you know I’m so there.   I haven’t actually been to the in-SL™ version of Wiley so hopefully that SLURL is right.  That’s the SLURL they gave with my cute little jacket!

They had seating that fit tinies (and humans too) as well as human and tiny jackets, opera glasses, and coffee!  There was a bit of info given by each author, some question/answer session, then a few trivia rounds.  The last four questions gave each winner a RL copy o fthe book to be shipped out soon.  Wahoo!  I won one!

Exciting.

Well crap, this sounds like an ad.  I won a book though! /whee And it’d be silly to say I won without saying who gives it to me!

Yay, saw Zinger there too :)  That was neat that we crossed paths!  I think she lit the guy in front of us on fire though.  I don’t remember his name but it was funny to watch him eat popcorn.  His hand would take popcorn, feed, then drop suddenly like he died.  Then bam, back to life.. gotta eat popcorn.. ohhhh no…. ran out of energy… must.. eat.. popcorn…

Hilarious!

It was a fun event, great to hear what was in the book and seeing other tinies (and seeing a tiny friendly area!)  Can’t wait for the next ones, it’s the first one I’ve seen so hopefully now that I’m looking for them I’ll find more.

Been not very with it lately but I have been in SL™ doing fun things!

Here’s a bunch of photos, things I’ve seen or done the last few days. I’ve been searching around trying to find some really fun, interesting sims to explore. It’s difficult with SL™ being super-mega-ultra-crazy laggy though. Crashing is not fun. Seeing only grey sims is not fun. However that would make for a really funny sim, everything in that primer grey shade. Hah. There probably is one, so send me the LM!

First up, have you been to the Linden Bear Museum? I had seen it mentioned in a thread at the Official SL™ forums. Something about how most Lindens’ have bears to hand out. I must start asking! I want Linden bears tooooooo.

I’ve taken a few classes. I made a well in one, flip flops in another, an asian swing in a class today. There was a teleporter class too, I forget what day but it was pretty good. Let’s see, what else.. Hrmm.. I don’t know, I think I took another couple other classes. That’s not to say they weren’t great, just because I can’t remember them. I just um.. don’t remember.

My flip flops are awesome. You might just spot me wearing them if you see me any time soon. They’re bright green with red and yellow straps. They’re huge! I’m playing dressup in human shoes. You gotta problem with that!? *fluffs up all tough* That’s right. Didn’t think so.

You can have a copy of my flip flop shoes if you want to play dressup too. Just send me a notecard, I miss IM’s a lot when I go AFK and crash bleh.

I took this class at TUi, on making an asian swing. It was made human sized but after class, I shrank it down. Here’s a shot of the entire class, then a shot of mine after it’s made smaller.

Couple of nights ago was an event on the NCI Kuula stage. It was Newbie Show and Tell night. I won first place with my tiny spacesuit! It replaces all AV parts except the head. I wrote the script for the air tanks with the help of Particle Lab and LSLWiki. When I fly it triggers the flames, when I am on the ground and typing it dribbles orange fire blobs. Very proud of this hehe.

Then there was some silliness! The Mutten Army formed.

Today was the Friday Party at Huggy’s Cafe. It was “The Good, Bad, and Ugly” theme. Each week is a new theme It’s fun!

Oh yeah, I took another class.  To make an icecream avatar.  I shrank mine down to fit and used the Tardimal AO from my other AV :)  Though I’ll try again now that I have Tao2 hud hooked up.  This isn’t the AV, this is just me sitting in the cone seat at the class.  Mmmmm waffle.
